American Metals was formed in 1991 as a metal fabrication
and welding company. In the early days we focused on any work
we could get but found a niche in the handrail market. As we
grew we expanded into fabricating stairs, and structural steel.

We began in a 7500 sq ft shop with the most basic
of equipment and in 2005 I realized that we were growing out
of this facility and would need to move to a larger one. I designed
a new shop and in the spring of 2006 we broke ground and a new
20,000 sq ft state-of-the-art shop and 1800 sq ft office building
were constructed. We moved into our new facilities in September
2006 and have expanded our operation to include a beam line,
multiple welding stations, and are working toward getting our
AISC certification. We have 21 employees in the shop and office
and are just completing our largest job to date, 375 tons on
a 2 story middle school in Columbia County, GA. We now offer
turn key fabrication and erection.
We foresee even more growth in American Metals future.
